Opening Ceremony of Foreign Languages Training Centre at the MFA

KABUL - The opening ceremony of the USAID -funded Training Centre of Foreign Languages at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held this afternoon.
The centre ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Mr. Hazrat Wahriz Director of the Institute of Diplomacy, Geoffrey Odlum, Deputy U.S. Ambassador in Kabul and Jed. E. Barton, Deputy Head of USAID in Afghanistan.
The Training Centre is comprised of three classrooms, a study centre and an administrative section equipped with wireless internet and will be utilized for the purpose of capacity building of MFA employees. The construction of the centre took three months and was completed at a cost of $120.000.
The centre was a part of a USAID project to improve the administrative and technical systems of the MFA. It was implemented over a one year period by MSI at a cost totaling $4 million aiming at carrying out studies on the current situation and the improvement of the conditions and administrative and technical facilities.
