Foreign Minister Meets with a Group of Pakistani Journalists

KABUL – A group of (14) prominent Pakistani journalists in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung Foundation, which operates for peace and security of the region met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E Salahuddin Rabbani.

The Pakistani journalists were warmly welcomed by Foreign Minister in his residency.

Minister Rabbani said that I am very proud of being among journalists. He also considered the visit of journalists from Pakistan to Afghanistan and vice versa is of great importance.  He added that the work of journalists is the expression of reality; thus, visits of journalistic community between the two countries would raise mutual understanding and make relations closer.  

Recalling the good hosting of the Pakistani people during the Jihad era, Minister Rabbani said that about three million immigrants are now living in Pakistan and we thank the people of Pakistan. He also expressed hope that Pakistan would help Afghanistan to achieve peace.

Minister Rabbani said that fighting terrorism in Afghanistan required all countries to cooperate more effectively.   

Pakistani journalist asked many questions including war, peace and cooperation of Pakistan.

Minister Rabbani said that war is not a solution and we need Pakistan’s cooperation to achieve peace.
