IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a meeting with his counterpart, Mr. Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, in Ankara.

In this meeting, the two sides held exhaustive discussions on enhancing the level of bilateral and diplomatic relations between the two countries, opening new trade corridors, and underlining several other regional issues, stressing on the continuation of such meetings and cooperation with each other.

Expressing gratifications to the government of Türkiye for the assistance, FM Muttaqi considered the acceptance of new Afghan diplomats in Ankara and Istanbul as a significant development in the bilateral relations.

Calling the people of the two countries brother, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that Türkiye will continue its friendship with Afghanistan, and reiterated that there should not be anymore armed opposition in Afghanistan.

To end, FM Fidan showed readiness to cooperate with the Afghan government in various realms for capacity building.
