The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a trilateral political consultation meeting in Kabul with the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Pakistan. This meeting was convened prior to the signing of the agreement on the feasibility study of the Trans-Afghan Railway Project.
All three countries, during the meeting, underscored their strong relations, regional stability, economic connectivity, and the expansion of mutual trade, stressing that through continued cooperation, the region’s full potential could be harnessed for the lasting welfare of its peoples.
FM Muttaqi stated that the Trans-Afghan project not only strengthens regional connectivity but also secures the shared interests of the three countries, underscoring that shared interests entail shared responsibilities, and these responsibilities can only be fulfilled through sincere, continuous, and joint efforts.
The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Pakistan reaffirmed that their governments fully support lasting stability, economic development, and regional connectivity projects in Afghanistan, and they wish Afghanistan to play its pivotal role as a connector between regions. Both sides noted that security and stability in Afghanistan can ensure the shared interests of Afghanistan and the region.
