Mr. Zhao Xing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, called on IEA-Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Mohammad Naeem.
During the meeting, the two sides engaged in constructive discussions on further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China.
Dr. Naeem described the relations between China and Afghanistan as deep and historic, expressed gratitude for China’s assistance, and reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s support for the One-China principle. He added that, in line with its balanced foreign policy, the Islamic Emirate seeks relations with all countries based on mutual respect and does not maintain ties with any state against another.
Amb. Zhao Xing appreciated the Islamic Emirate’s principled stance and assured that China fully respects Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and is committed to continued cooperation with the country.
The meeting also touched upon the recent attack by a neighboring country on Afghanistan, which both sides noted was contrary to all humanitarian, Islamic, and good-neighborly principles.
Later, Dr. Naeem clearly stated the Islamic Emirate’s position, describing the attack as cruel and cowardly, noting that an appropriate response had been given. He further emphasized that war and conflict are not solutions to problems, and that the Islamic Emirate seeks good and positive relations with all, particularly with its neighbors. However, he stressed that if anyone violates Afghanistan’s rights and values, the Afghan people consider it their legitimate right to defend themselves and are fully capable of doing so.
Amb. Zhao Xing also underlined that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and understanding, not through war or conflict.
In the end, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and maintaining sustainable cooperation.
