Welcoming Mr. Bertrand, FM Muttaqi expressed appreciation for the work carried out by the EU’s previous envoy to Afghanistan, particularly in areas of humanitarian assistance cooperation.Praising the achievements of the Islamic Emirate over the past four years in establishing nationwide security, stability, & economic development, as well as the acceptance & return of millions of Afghan refugees, Mr. Bertrand also assured the continued EU assistance.
Further highlighting the need for enhanced EU cooperation & attention, especially in Afghanistan’s private sector, Mr. Bertrand called for greater joint efforts to attract investment from major international companies.
Referring to the large-scale projects initiated over the past four years by the Islamic Emirate, FM Muttaqi called on the European Union to take positive steps to support Afghanistan’s development in various fields.In the end, the two sides stressed on continued cooperation & likewise engagements in the future.
