Today, the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniyar Amangeldiev met with IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi

During meeting, discussion was held on the entire gamut of bilateral trade and transit relations between the two countries.FM Muttaqi informed the Kyrgyz delegation about recent developments in Afghanistan, highlighting that the recent progress in ensuring security and stability in Afghanistan has created good opportunities for the trade and transit growth.Welcoming the policies Kyrgyzstan regarding Afghanistan, FM Muttaqi said that the import of Afghan traders from China through Kyrgyzstan should be further facilitated so that the route turns a successful transit route.Touching on the major economic projects commenced in Afghanistan, FM Muttaqi said that Afghanistan stands ready to practically commence work on major regional projects such as CASA-1000.The Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan said that his country has extensive relations with Afghanistan in several areas, and now there is a potential to increase the export and import between the two countries.The Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan said that there are good opportunities for joint work between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan in the fields of trade, transportation, transit, energy, agriculture and higher education.Following the recent positive changes in Afghanistan, Mr. Daniyar Amangeldiev said that opportunities for joint work have arisen in many areas, adding that he has brought a group of Kyrgyz businessmen with him on this trip in order to have negotiations with the Afghan government and the private sector.In the end, FM Muttaqi stressed on facilitating issuing visas to Afghan businessmen for the development of trade, and assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is supportive in all areas of bilateral relations.
