The Chief of Staff IOM based in Geneva, Mr. Mohammed Abdiker called on IEA-Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Muhammad Naeem.
The meeting focused on the forced deportation of Afghan refugees, internally displaced families, & expanding humanitarian cooperation.
DFM Dr. Naeem stressed that migration is a serious human rights concern & insisted that Afghan refugees should be provided dignified conditions for their return.
IOM-Chief of Staff, Mohammed Abdiker acknowledged the IEA’s progress in establishing overall security, successfully combating narcotics, reviving economic infrastructure, & especially appreciated government’s responsible & effective handling of returnees, calling it a collective humanitarian responsibility.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued & enhanced cooperation.
