Japanese Ambassador Pays Farewell Call on Foreign Minister

Mr. Kuromiya stated that his mission in Afghanistan has come to an end, & that Mr. Kenichi Masamoto will serve as the new Ambassador of Japan. He also shared positive impressions regarding Afghanistan’s progress during his tenure, highlighting achievements in ensuring overall security & stability, & expressed hope that the remaining issues would be resolved through positive engagement & dialogue.

Commending Mr. Kuromiya for the successful completion of his mission, FM Muttaqi highlighted the long-standing positive relations between Afghanistan & Japan, & further underscored the Islamic Emirate’s constructive engagement with the region & the wider world over the past four years.
Additionally, FM Muttaqi expressed appreciation for Japan’s sympathy toward the Afghan people & thanked Japan for its recent assistance to earthquake-affected communities.
