Welcoming the players, FM Muttaqi acknowledged that Afghanistan has a strong and proud cricket team and considered all the players the pride of the country.
FM Muttaqi said that cricket together with other sports can play a positive bit in maintaining relations and closeness between people and governments at the regional and global levels.
Also, advising the players, FM Muttaqi asked them to remain committed to Islamic and national interests both inside and outside country, saying that the secret to your success is lying in the sheer obedience of your board.
FM Muttaqi urged them to present a positive perception and demonstrate religiosity, Islamic morals and patriotism in practice.
Adding, the player should pay more attention to harmony, coordination, and sincerity among themselves and continue their sports training so as to serve the country at the national and international level, and bring achievements as before.
Later, Chairman of Afghan Cricket Board, Mr. Mirwais Ashraf and the team captain, Mr. Hashmatullah Shahidi, leading all the players and expressed thanks to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for always encouraging the players and extending cooperation with ACB.
Mr. Ashraf shared some requests and needs of the players with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, for which he received assurance of all kinds of cooperation.
In the end, all players thanked the Islamic Emirate for providing financial support for Cricket Board and for paying attention to the abilities of the players, adding that there is no personal requests or interventions have been made in the national team, however, recommendations have always been made by the officials to maintain transparency, unity and national interests.
To end, FM Muttaqi wished success and safety for the Afghan cricket players who are busy in leagues out of the country, and prayed that Afghan team be victorious in every field, and may it be a reason of the success and progress of Islamic system.
