Russian Presidential Envoy Calls on IEA-Foreign Minister

The Russian Presidential Envoy on Afghanistan’s affairs, Mr. Zamir Kabulov, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The meeting focused on strengthening Afg-Russian relations with an emphasis on economic cooperation & issues pertinent to investment & transit.
Describing the Afg-Russian relations important, FM Muttaqi stressed that the bilateral relations should be expanded to include enhanced economic & trade cooperations, highlighting the importance of high-level exchanges between the two countries, noting that several officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had been invited to participate in meetings in Russia over the past year.
Reiterating Russia’s commitment to deepening its engagement with Afghanistan, particularly in economic & trade sectors, Mr. Kabulov said that Russia seeks to send a high-level delegation to Kabul in the near future in order to hold discussions with senior IEA-senior officials aimed at exploring opportunities to expand cooperations across various domains.
