The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Serik Zhumangarin met with IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi

During meeting comprehensive discussions were held on bilateral political, economic relations, bilateral trade & Kazakhstan’s investment in Afghanistan.Welcoming the Kazakh delegation, FM Muttaqi said that the economic, trade and transit cooperation between the two countries is getting expanded, adding FM Muttaqi said that Afghanistan is interested to expand commercial transactions with Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, commending the role of Kazakhstan in the trade sector of Afghanistan, FM Muttaqi expressed hope for having Kazakhstan’s investment in mining, railways sectors and electronic governance in Afghanistan, & noted that the level of Afghanistan’s diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan should be upgraded.Along with the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, it is vital to commence direct flights between Kabul and Astana.Later, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, called the relations of Kazakhstan with Afghanistan growing and said that Afghanistan’s exports to Kazakhstan have increased almost three times. Additionally, Mr. Serik Zhumangrin said that his technical delegation is being accompanied with him on this trip, and will hold detailed technical discussions about investment in railways, mines and joint ventures in Afghanistan.Mr. Zhumangrin hoped that both sides would be able to start direct flights between Kabul and Astana.The Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister said that during his three-day visit to Afghanistan, he will inaugurate the joint trade exhibition of the two countries in Kabul.
