Delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar Calls on FM Muttaqi

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the state of Qatar, Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifi, leading a delegation, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Welcoming the delegation, FM Muttaqi reminded that Afghanistan & Qatar are friends of hard times, thus, it is necessary to further strengthen the bond of fraternity.

Later, considering Afghanistan as second home, DFM. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalid affirmed his commitment to cooperate in multiple sectors, including the economy, politics, healthcare, infrastructure projects & the banking sector, adding further, Qatari Deputy Foreign Minister said that Qatar is to construct a 400-bed hospital in Kandahar province in order to ensure healthcare services to Afghans.

Touching on the conditions set by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for their participation in the third Doha meeting, Mr. Al-Khalifi stated that everyone believes that sans IEA’s participation in the meeting, it would not bear any meaningful outcomes. Furthermore, on the behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the state of Qatar, Mr. Al-Khalifi, extended invitation to FM Muttaqi to pay a visit to Qatar.

During the meeting, FM Muttaqi clearly transmitted IEA’s position on the Doha meeting & expressed agreement to discuss climate change, the private sector, and drug-related issues in the meeting.

In the end, hailing Qatar’s position on the Palestinian case, especially Gaza, FM Muttaqi requested Qatar’s cooperation in providing job opportunities to Afghan workers & releasing Afghanistan’s nationals reserves, meanwhile, Mr. Al-Khalifi assured cooperation thereof.
