The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Afghanistan, Mr. Faisal Bin Talaq Al-Baqmi called on IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding bilateral relations between Afghanistan & Saudi Arabia & the progress made in diverse areas in the Afghanistan.
At the outset, FM Muttaqi touched on the religious, cultural and historical commonalities between the Afghans and the people of Saudi Arabia, adding further, FM Muttaqi said that IEA is interested to upgrade its relations with Saudi Arabia
FM Muttaqi expressed hope that the bilateral relations will be further enhanced during the tenure of Mr. Faisal Al-Baqmi.
KSA’s Representative & Ambassador for Afghanistan highlighted the historical and deeper relations between the two countries & expressed happiness to take pragmatic steps towards further developing the relations with Afghans.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in particular in strengthening security & countering narcotics, Mr. Al-Baqmi affirmed his commitment to continuing to dispatch humanitarian aid to Afghans & work in other areas as well.
In the end, informing KSA’s Representatives regarding the progress made in political, economic and security areas, FM Muttaqi said that that the interest in enhancing international relations with the Afghan government is increasing, & expressed hope to upgrade the level of diplomatic missions in both countries.
