Following extensive & productive negotiations between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan & the United States of America, an agreement was reached facilitating the release of an Afghan Mujahid, Khan Mohammad, from a U.S. prison in exchange for the release of American nationals.
Khan Mohammad, detained nearly two decades ago in Nangarhar & later sentenced to life imprisonment by a U.S. court, had been serving his sentence in California.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan consider this exchange as a good example of resolving issues through dialogue, and is particularly grateful to the fraternal States of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates for its effective role in this regard.
The Islamic Emirate views positively steps taken by the United States that aid normalization & expansion of relations between the two countries.
