The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Pakistan, Mr. Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in-depth discussions on political and economic matters concerning Afghanistan and Pakistan.
FM Muttaqi expressed concern regarding the forced deportation of Afghan refugees and the mistreatment they face by certain government bodies. Additionally, he described the ongoing situation as regrettable, provocative, and detrimental to the bilateral relations between the two countries, and called for a reconsideration and improvement of the current approach.
Acknowledging the concerns raised by the Islamic Emirate, Mr. Nizamani assured that the matter would be conveyed to the relevant authorities in Pakistan.
In the end, the two sides stressed on taking result-oriented measures and reaffirmed the need for continued engagement through high-level delegations.
