The Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Takashi Okada called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlawi Amir khan Muttaqi.

During meeting, Mr. Takashi Okada acknowledged the positive achievements IEA gained in ensuring security, combating narcotics and economic growth.

Mr. Okada reiterated the commitment of the Japanese government to extend and strengthen relations with Afghanistan, and also provide information about the second meeting of the Security Council on Afghanistan, adding that we want listen to your requests in order to seriously discuss them in coming meeting.

The world is willing to cooperate with Afghan government in climate change, water management, preserving heritage, terrorism and health, said Mr, Okada.

Later, FM Muttaqi expressed gratitude to the Japanese ambassador for the information provided and said that we have set goals for enhancing diplomatic relations with the countries of the region and in bid to use the economic opportunities better, adding that IEA has made major progress in ensuring security, developing political and economic relations, banning drugs, rehabilitating drug addicts and providing health services.

Adding further, many issues have been resolved between the IEA and the international community such as countering narcotics, and not having threat from Afghan territory against other countries. Now, there is an opportunity for engagement a good atmosphere for confidence building.

To end, the two sides emphasized on enhancing relations and strengthening cooperation.
