The Iranian Ambassador & Special Representative on Afghanistan, Mr. Hassan Kazim Qomi, accompanying Mr. Mohammad Karimi, the Governor of the Sistan and Baluchestan, leading a delegation, paid a call on IEA-Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Al-Haj Sher Muhammad Abbas Stanekzai.

The discussions covered a range of bilateral political and economic domains, focusing particularly on enhancing trade and transit cooperation between the two neighbours alongside other strategic issues.
Appreciating Iran’s continued support for Afghan refugees & highlighting the challenges Afghan businessmen and refugees face in Iran, Mr. Stanekzai underscored the development in political, economic, trade, & transit sectors between Afghanistan and Iran over the past three years, calling the mutual visits between delegations as indicative of the enhanced bilateral relations.
Voicing satisfaction with the progress made in political, economic, trade & transit cooperation in the last 3 years, the Iranian delegation highlighted the successful resolution of Irans water rights from the Helmand River, reiterating to further streamline bilateral cooperation through coordinated efforts and mutual understanding in order to provide more facilitation thereon in the near future.
Also, the two sides held in-depth deliberations on the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, expressing concern over the unremitting aggressions of the Zionist regime & the lack of response from international community, particularly from Islamic nations, to the deteriorated situation.
