The U.K’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr. Richard Lindsay called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The two sides focused on the recent Afghanistan–Pakistan situation, multilateral meetings in Doha, and other issues.
FM Muttaqi said that, compared to the period of U.S.–NATO presence, the current security and social situation in Afghanistan has improved. He noted that the Islamic Emirate’s pragmatic steps have increased regional confidence. Likewise, Islamic Emirate remains committed to maintaining positive relations with other countries and will not allow its territory to be used against any state.
Conveying condolences over the recent loss of Afghan lives in attacks carried out by Pakistan, Mr. Lindsay also shared views on regional and international issues, stating that the United Kingdom remains committed to continuing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, and will continue engagement through future visits.
