Dr. Mohammad Naeem, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administrative affairs of the IEA-Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Hamid Qanbari, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy.
The meeting focused on economic, political, and trade relations between the two countries, economic cooperation, effective utilisation of existing opportunities, and ways to address challenges in these areas.
The two sides also exchanged views on addressing the challenges faced by Afghan migrants, facilitating visa regime, and enhancing joint cooperation in this regard.
Mr. Qanbari said Iran stands ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the construction of the Herat–Mazar-e-Sharif railway, mining, and electricity generation.
Dr. Mohammad Naeem underscored the importance of expanding economic relations between the two countries and stressed the need for joint efforts and cooperation in this regard.
