Yesterday, UN-SRSG & the Head of UNAMA, Mrs. Roza Otunbayeva called on IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
During meeting, comprehensive discussion was held regarding the third meeting UN-led Doha meeting as well as the necessary steps to be taken following the meeting.
At the outset, expressing hope, FM Muttaqi said that following the third UN-led Doha meeting, progress will be made regarding lifting financial and banking sanctions & providing alternative livelihoods of drugs.
UN-SRSG said that the Afghan government will continue to work closely with the relevant bodies in order to follow up the talks of Doha meeting. Additionally, Mrs. Roza Otunbayeva said that it is necessary to hold awareness meetings with the diplomatic channels in Kabul after the third Doha meeting.
To end, the two sides affirmed their commitment to following up the issues discussed in the third UN-led Doha meeting by working jointly.
