the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan invited ambassadors of various countries based in Kabul and representatives of regional and international organizations to a dinner banquet.
During meeting, IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, delivered a comprehensive speech regarding the inauguration of major initiatives with Turkmenistan last week, including the TAPI gas pipeline, TAP, Noori Fiber Optic Network, and Railway line.
FM Muttaqi said that the initiation of practical work on the TAPI pipeline within Afghanistan marks a significant shift in regional discourse, moving away from conflict and competition towards progress and cooperation.
FM Muttaqi reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s strong political will to the successful extension of the TAPI pipeline through Afghan territory, expressing optimism that its completion will bring benefits to Afghanistan as well as to the people of Pakistan and India. Additionally, he called on the participants to move beyond the negative competition, security concerns, and zero-sum approaches, advocating instead win-win approach for the wellbeing of the people of their countries.
FM Muttaqi said that numerous countries of the world have realized that instead of focusing on the issues through geopolitical lens they can adopt a geoeconomic lens, leading to mutual benefit for all.
FM Muttaqi expressed hope that the launch of major economic initiatives would drive substantial positive economic transformation across the region, generating widespread benefits for the economies of all participating parties.
During meeting, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Mr. Khawaja Awadov, also addressed the gathering, describing the inauguration of major projects between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan as the commencement of a new chapter in the bilateral relations of the two countries, adding further, Mr. Khawaja Awadov said that his country is seeking to further develop political and economic relations with Afghanistan.
