IFRC-Director for Asia-Pacific Calls on IEA-Foreign Minister

The Director of IFRC for the Asia-Pacific region, Alexander Matheou, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
Welcoming Mr. Alexander, FM Muttaqi said that it is important to prioritize the expansion of services & healthcare in Afghanistan’s remote areas, underlining the need for special attention to the treatment of children with heart diseases such as ASD & VSD.
Furthermore, FM Muttaqi urged IFRC-Director to further strengthen healthcare & relief centers across provinces, ensuring timely & efficient response during natural disasters.
Expressing satisfaction with the current situation of Afghanistan & acknowledging Afghan government’s cooperation in facilitating IFRC’s operations & fairly dispatching services in Afghanistan, Mr. Matheou also pledged to continue endeavors to support vulnerable & needy Afghans.
To end, detailed discussion was held regarding increasing humanitarian assistance, particularly focusing on increased funding & equipping the healthcare sector.
