Mr. Yue Xiaoyong, Special Envoy of the People’s Republic of China for Afghanistan, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi on the sidelines of the eighth meeting of the Moscow Format consultations.
The meeting covered bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China, the regional situation, and avenues for further expanding bilateral cooperation.
Expressing appreciation for China’s constructive and balanced approach towards Afghanistan within the framework of the Moscow Format, FM Muttaqi noted that favourable conditions exist for further consolidating bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests.
Mr. Yue Xiaoyong described Afghanistan-China relations as positive and shared China’s perspectives on regional developments, stressing the importance of joint efforts to advance regional stability, enhance mutual cooperation, and promote Afghanistan’s economic and regional connectivity.
