IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a telecon with Ms. Rosemary DiCarlo, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.
During the conversation, the two sides discussed the delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable Afghans and measures to further enhance the effectiveness of aid operations.
Ms. DiCarlo expressed appreciation for the facilitation and cooperation provided by the Islamic Emirate in support of humanitarian activities, noting their importance in ensuring the timely and effective delivery of assistance.
Additionally, Ms. DiCarlo also briefed the FM Muttaqi on recent developments concerning UNAMA and provided an overview of the United Nations’ ongoing efforts in Afghanistan.In the end, the two sides stressed on continued mutual understanding, constructive engagement, and enhanced cooperation.
