Foreign Minister Holds Telecon with his Tajik Counterpart

IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held telecon with Tajik Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.The discussion focused on political relations, economic cooperation, border situation, security coordination, & regional initiatives between the two countries.

FM Muttaqi said that Afghanistan & Tajikistan have recently established an atmosphere of trust toward political, economic, & security cooperation, while noting that some circles are trying to undermine this positive trend. Condemning & expressing regret over the recent security incidents on Tajik territory resulting in casualties among Chinese nationals, FM Muttaqi stressed that joint cooperation for regional stability, noting that the Islamic Emirate is fully prepared to strengthen border security, conduct joint investigations, & engage in all forms of coordination, considering joint action against hostile elements a timely necessity.Highlighting the historical, cultural, & religious linkages between the two countries, FM Sirojiddin Muhriddin, expressed support for strengthening border coordination.

Also, he affirmed that Tajikistan favors positive engagement with the Afghan government, rejecting groups that seek to disrupt relations between the two countries.The two sides agreed to maintain regular contact between border forces, continue joint security-cooperation committees, & hold technical meetings to promote mutual trust & stability in the region.
