A meeting between the Islamic Emirate delegation led by Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi was held with Qatari officials from several civil service and education institutions.

The meeting focused on humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, dynamics of higher education, capacity development, humanitarian aid, and providing scholarships to Afghan students.

The Qatari officials pledged to assist in various areas, provide training opportunities for Afghan students, and deliver aid to Afghanistan through Qatari Red Crescent and Qatar al-Khairiyah.

IEA delegation called on Qatar to invest in Afghanistan, use air corridor to import quality Afghan dried and fresh fruit & find a market for it, & directly deliver assistance to the people in which the new Islamic government will take effective steps in delivery and transparency.

Also, serious discussions were held about guardianship of disabled, widows, and orphaned Afghans to be deliberated in the future.

Technical discussions & contacts will follow for coherence and implementation of the said pledges and calls.
