Regional Director of IFRC for Asia Pacific, Mr. Alexander Matheou accompanied by a delegation called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi

During meeting, hailing the services, cooperation and operations of IFRC & ICRC in Afghanistan, FM Muttaqi pointed out the areas of the country which in the dire need of cooperation.Mr. Matheou presented a report on the IFRC’s operations and cooperation in Afghanistan, & extended appreciation & gratitude to the Afghan government in particular the cooperation ensured by IEA-MoFA, adding Mr. Mathew said that in the past year, the assistance of CHF28 million have been extended in terms of providing health services, water supply and assistance during natural disasters to 5 million needy people. To end, FM Muttaqi reminded the the Regional Director for Asia Pacific to reflect the real picture of Afghanistan and the situation having been observed with his own eyes to the international community, and asked to expedite efforts to ensure comprehensive assistance & pay special attention to the health sector & equipments of internal hospitals so as to provide better services.
