During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and the situation of Afghan refugees residing in Iran.
Calling the two countries good neighbors, President Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s readiness to expand relations with Afghanistan in all areas, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and assuring cooperation in providing necessary facilities and support for Afghan refugees.
Highlighting the importance of positive relations and close cooperation between the two countries, FM Muttaqi reiterated the need to boost trade, control narcotics trafficking, and enhance political engagement, asking that the process of refugee repatriation be carried out gradually to ensure their assets and affairs are not harmed.
