IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with Mr. Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of CIDCA.
The meeting focused on China’s developmental projects in Afghanistan and broader bilateral cooperation, particularly in the context of Afghanistan’s reconstruction.
Expressing appreciation for CIDCA’s contributions, FM Muttaqi stated that following the establishment of security in Afghanistan, the IEA’s primary responsibility is now the economic revival of the country, noting that the government is committed to mobilizing all available resources to prioritize this objective. Additionally, he expressed hope for enhanced cooperation between Afghanistan and China in domains such as agriculture, energy, and long-term development projects.
Furthermore, FM Muttaqi presented pragmatic proposals to CIDCA, identifying them as priority areas for Afghanistan’s reconstruction.
In response, Mr. Chen Xiaodong reaffirmed China’s commitment to continued cooperation with Afghanistan, particularly in the sectors of healthcare, energy, agriculture, and capacity building, pledging support for the development of Afghanistan’s infrastructure, livestock sector, and the exploration and assessment of oil and gas resources.
