The Norway’s newly appointed Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Bjørn Hansen called on IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi & discussed political & regional matters.
During the meeting, the envoy noted that Norway maintains historical relations with Afghanistan & has consistently aimed to contribute constructively to its stability. Additionally, he stated that progress has been observed in areas such as security, counter-narcotics, & other sectors, & stressed on the importance of normalizing relations with the international community to facilitate enhanced cooperation.
Expressing appreciation for Norway’s continued engagement with the Islamic Emirate, both prior to & following 2021, FM Muttaqi underscored that the existing stability in Afghanistan should be capitalised to the fullest, & the ongoing developments should serve to support the further expansion of cooperation.
