Ms. Georgette Gagnon, the Acting Head of UNAMA, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir khan Muttaqi.
The meeting focused on the upcoming session of the United Nations Security Council regarding Afghanistan, along with other relevant matters.
FM Muttaqi said that the presence of Afghanistan’s representatives at the United Nations and other international organizations would contribute to strengthening & expanding engagement between the two sides, adding that Afghanistan’s representation is the responsibility of the Afghan government & the legitimate right of the Afghan people.
Later, Ms. Georgette Gagnon stressed the importance of greater engagement by the international community with Afghanistan, as well as cooperation in various sectors.
In the end, both sides underscored enhancing coordination through joint working committees in order to expand humanitarian cooperation & further strengthen mutual engagement.
