Welcoming the delegation, Minister Muttaqi highlighted historic ties, shared religion, culture and climate between the two countries, expressing delight over the support from Turkish government & people.
Expressing gratitude to MoFA leadership for the warm hospitality, Mr. KiniK called Afghanistan a strategic friend, assuring comprehensive cooperation, calling the Afghan people’s assistance with the Turkish people during the 1915 Çanakkale battle unforgettable.
He also said a 750 ton assistance package from Turkish people & NGOs worth $10 million that includes food, winter items, clothing, & medicine has been prepared at the special instruction of H.E. President Erdoğan to reach Afghanistan by railway via Torghundi port soon.
Mr. KiniK also highlighted capacity development & provision of facilities to the Afghan Red Crescent, intending to encourage the international community to increase their assistance thereof.
Minister Muttaqi thanked them for their assistance & good will, proposing the procurement of assisted commodities found in the Afghan market to help the Afghan economy grow & minimize shipping Cost. Minister Muttaqi also called for further facilitation of visa for Afghan refugees, students, traders & patients seeking to travel to Turkey.
Minister Muttaqi said the Afghan government was ready to lay foundation for Turkish traders to invest in Afghanistan to enhance bilateral trade & relations.
