Today, a meeting headed by FM Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi with participation of DFM & DGs was held with the Pakistani delegation.

The delegation led by Ms Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs included other officials including Mohammad Sadiq Khan, Pakistan’s SR for Afghanistan, Obaidul Rahman Nizamani, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul & other officials.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Muttaqi called relations between the two neighboring countries beneficial for the people the region while raising with the Pakistani delegation issues related to release of Afghan prisoners in Pakistan, facilitating movement of people, & improvement & acceleration of trade & transit.

He also expressed his readiness for the commencement of TAPI, TAP, railway & other major projects, & stated the position of the Islamic Emirate regarding political relations, economic growth & security.

The Pakistani delegation pledged to cooperate regarding the good treatment of Afghan refugees, ways of commuting & resolving visa-related problems,adding that it will take necessary steps to broaden & enhance trade & transit with Afghanistan.

Ms Khar said that as Afghanistan & Pakistan are two neighboring Muslim countries with common cultures, the governments of the two countries should cooperate & secure mutual bilateral interests.

It was agreed to create new mechanisms for bilateral cooperation so that all shared opportunities & issues can be analyzed through dialogue & progress achieved.To end, the two sides pledged to take fruitful & positive steps moving forward & find solutions.
