The Special Envoy of Malaysia for Afghanistan, Dato’ Ahmad Azam, accompanying delegation, called on IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The two sides engaged in discussions regarding political and economic relations between Afghanistan and Malaysia, as well as avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation.Describing the diplomatic, religious, cultural, and economic relations between Afghanistan and Malaysia as growing, the FM Muttaqi expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s goodwill and support for Afghanistan throughout history.
Additionally, FM Muttaqi stated that Afghanistan’s relations with the international community are expanding, underscoring its positive engagement with neighbouring and regional countries, and stressing Afghanistan’s keenness to further strengthen its relations with the countries of Southeast Asia.
Reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing Malaysia-Afg relations, the members of the Malaysian delegation described the situation in Afghanistan as improving, noting that their visit was organised under the special directive of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and expressed hope that it would pave the way for future high-level exchanges.
