The representatives of the participating countries in the traditional wrestling festival convened in Kabul, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi
During meeting, FM Muttaqi called the cultural cohesion & relations between Afghanistan & region historical. Adding he said that through the mechanism of sports diplomacy, Afghanistan seeks to broaden & consolidate its relations with the international community.
FM Muttaqi stated that efforts are underway to streamline visa facilitation & other arrangements for athletes. Moreover, he highlighted that since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, there has been significant progress in the indigenous sports & games.
Later, the representatives of the participating nations commended the good management wrestling heritage of Afghans, expressing their commitment to cooperation & joint work in this field.
It is noteworthy that an international traditional wrestling tournament involving seven countries commenced under Afghanistan’s stewardship in Kabul last Thursday, featuring approximately 100 domestic & 60 foreign athletes from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Iran, and Türkiye.
