The Japanese Ambassador in Afghanistan Mr. Takashi Okada called on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlawi Amir khan Muttaqi and held a farewell meeting.

At the outset, Mr. Okada said that his mission in Afghanistan has come to its end, and now Mr. Takeyoshi Kuramaya will be working in the capacity of new ambassador of Japan in Afghanistan.

Recalling the positive experience and achievements regarding the situation of Afghanistan during his mission, Mr. Okays expressed hope that positive interaction will pave way to the issues pending.

Appreciating the Japanese ambassador for successfully completing his mission, FM Muttaqi wished the new ambassador success in his affairs.

Also, touching on the good relations between Afghanistan and Japan, Mr. Okada made mention of the progress IEA made in terms of ensuring security, countering narcotics and taking decisive measures against corruption.

Later, talking about further improving the relationship of the two countries, the new Japanese ambassador Mr. Kormaya, promised to play a constructive role in further enhancing relations.

To end, FM Muttaqi appreciated the sympathy offered by Japan and expressed gratitude for providing aids to the victims of the recent earthquakes, adding that FM Muttaqi hoped that the new Japanese ambassador will play a good role to further strengthen relations between Afghanistan and Japan.
