Hailing Russia’s recent decision to remove the term “Taliban Movement”previously used for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from its list of outlawed groups, FM Muttaqi expressed gratitude the Russian Federation for accepting an Islamic Emirate diplomat at the ambassadorial level in Moscow, affirming that the Afghan government will soon appoint a its ambassador.
Underscoring Russia’s commitment to strengthening relations with Afghanistan, Mr. Kabulov noted that the recent steps aim to eliminate obstacles to expand engagement, adding further, he stated that a dedicated session will be held on the sidelines of the upcoming Kazan Forum in May to initiate the work of the Russia-Afghanistan Permanent Bilateral Commission.
Mr. Kabulov described the upgradation of bilateral relations between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Russian Federation as invaluable, calling it new phase in mutual cooperation.
