Ms. Roza Otunbayeva, the UN-SRSG and Head of UNAMA in Afghanistan, called on IEA-Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Mohammad Naeem.
The meeting focused on the needs of returning refugees, as well as several other topics.
Appreciating UNAMA’s assistance, DFM Naeem said that the IEA remains committed to facilitating the operations of aid organizations in Afghanistan, assuring that any issues popping up will be addressed through joint efforts.
He further requested UNAMA to continue its cooperation in providing basic necessities for returnees.
Thanking the IEA Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its cooperation, Ms. Otunbayeva reiterated that the United Nations stands by the Afghan people, adding that UNAMA is striving to provide not only basic services but also job opportunities for returnees.
