During the call, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Afghanistan & Russia, economic cooperation, & the latest regional developments.
Reiterating Afghanistan’s position regarding the recent violations of Afghanistan’s sovereignty by Pakistan, FM Muttaqi stressed that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan prioritizes diplomatic channels for resolving issues, while considering the defense of its people & territory a legitimate right.
Expressing concern over the regional situation, FM Sergey Lavrov insisted that issues shall be resolved through political dialogue, adding that Russia stands ready to assist in efforts aimed at resolving the tensions.
