Today the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul Mr. Wang Yu called on IEA Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

The Chinese Ambassador said China has maintained normal relations with Afghanistan and is willing to strengthen it further.He added that direct Afg-China flights would start on May 24th; Ainak copper mine preliminary work would be expedited; Afghan exports would be increased, particularly pomegranate; & besides the renovation of Jumhooriyat hospital, the affordable housing scheme would be inaugurated Welcoming these steps taken by China, FM Muttaqi called the beginning of flights between the two countries a good opportunity to strengthened relations, calling for further facilitation of visa issuance.

The meeting also focused on other bilateral issues.
