The meeting of Coordination between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and UN Organizations was held at the Storai Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, along with the Deputy ministers and directors of the Ministry of Interior, Ministery of Finance, Ministry Public Health and Ministry of Economy, and on the behalf of the United Nations, the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs and Assistant of UNAMA, Mr. Daniel Andres, and Directors of OCHA, UNICEF, FAO and IOM participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, Mr. Daniel discussed new strategic plan of the United Nations for Afghanistan, the current situation of Afghanistan and the international aid.

Reiterating his commitment to help the people of Afghanistan, he said that the economic situation of Afghanistan has improved since the last meeting, adding that the objective of the new plan of UN is to bring about coordination between the efforts of humanitarian and infrastructural wings, by taking the long-term needs of Afghanistan and the principle of sustainability of aid into account.

Later, FM Muttaqi said that the request of the Islamic Emirate is to oversee the future aid to Afghanistan by turning it into creating opportunities so that people can benefit from it continuously and the country gradually can move towards self-dependability.

In the end, the both sides agreed to resolve problems and strengthen mutual understanding and coordination through these meetings.
