The newly appointed Consul General of Turkmenistan for Herat province, Mr. Batyar Yalov, paid a courtesy call on IEA Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Welcoming and wishing the new Consul General of Turkmenistan success, FM Muttaqi called the 30-year-long relations between the Islamic Emirate and Turkmenistan positive, and assured both the Turkmen Ambassador who was also present in the meeting and the Consul General of all-round cooperation in bilateral projects, adding that Afghanistan is ready to work with full enthusiasm as to commence practical work on TAPI and TAP projects.

Meanwhile, FM Muttaqi expressed gratitude to the government of Turkmenistan for its assistance to the people affected by the recent earthquakes in Herat province.

The new Turkmen Consul General expressed gratitude to MoFA and promised to work closely with the provincial authorities of Herat province on relevant issues.

Calling the relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan amicable, the Turkmen Ambassador expressed hope that the leaders of the Islamic Emirate would visit Turkmenistan soon.
Touching upon the practical commencement of the TAPI & TAP projects, the Turkmen Ambassador said that his country was working on many options which would eventually be shared with the Afghan side once finalized.
