The Norwegian Chargé d’Affaires for Afghanistan, Mr. Per Albert Ilsaas, called on IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The meeting focused on a wide range of bilateral & regional issues.
Calling Norway’s accreditation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s diplomat a positive step toward confidence-building and enhancing relations, FM Muttaqi also acknowledged Norway’s constructive role in the relations between Afghanistan & Western world.
Voicing concern over the current regional situation, FM Muttaqi noted that the Afghan government stands ready to cooperate with the Iranian people on Islamic & humanitarian basis.
Outlining Norway’s position on recent regional developments, Mr. Ilsaas expressed concern over their potential impact on Afghanistan, adding that a Norwegian delegation will visit in the near future to jointly review bilateral relations with the Afghan government.
