Foreign Minister Holds Video Conference with His Turkmen Counterpart

IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a video conference with the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mr. Rashid Meredov.
During conversation, both sides exchanged views on bilateral issues, the expansion of regional cooperation, & the forthcoming programs planned between Afghanistan & Turkmenistan during the current year.

Positively assessing the progress in relations between the two countries, FM Muttaqi stated that, with further strengthening of substantive relations between the Islamic Emirate & Turkmenistan, practical work on the TAPI project toward Herat has commenced, while the railway & TAP projects are approaching the implementation phase, noting that relations between the two sides continue to advance.

Calling relations between the two countries historical & friendly, Mr. Meredov was pleased with the development of Afghan-Turkmen relations at various levels. He emphasized the importance of close coordination in the implementation of joint economic projects, the exchange of official visits between the two countries, & the execution of planned future programs.
In the end, the two counterparts underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation, particularly regional dialogue between Afghanistan & the countries of Central Asia.
