Head of International Institute of Uzbekistan Calls on Foreign Minister

A delegation from Uzbekistan led by Mr. Jolan Vakhabov, the President of the Central Asia International Institute and Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, called on Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

The meeting focused on strengthening political & economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as on regional issues.
FM Muttaqi said that Uzbekistan pursues a positive & good-will based policy toward Afghanistan, & expressed hope that, in light of this policy, bilateral relations & cooperation would further expand, underlining the role of research centers in enhancing these relations, increasing bilateral understanding, & strengthening the perception of realities on the ground.

Conveying the good wishes of the Uzbek President to the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mr. Jolan Vakhabov praised the existing stability & developments in Afghanistan. Additionally, he stated that due to the positive policy & outlook between the two countries, the level of bilateral trade has increased significantly compared to the past, & expressed hope that it would increase even further this year.
The meeting also presented several proposals aimed at strengthening & expanding bilateral economic cooperation & political relations, which would help further broaden the existing cooperation.
