In the meeting, the Mr. Shorter expressed delight over his visit to Kabul, saying that positive changes brought about by the new government include the end of war, establishment of security, mormalcy, access for humanitarian aid & reopening of educational institutes.
He added that he was instructed by the British Prime Minister to increase engagement with the new Afghan government & broaden interactions & humanitarian aid – highlighting specific assistance towards humanitarian & banking development.
Minister Muttaqi said the new Afghan government welcomes Britain’s humanitarian aid & cooperation in education field.
The British delegation said we also want & call on the international community to cooperate in Afghanistan’s economic development, & urge the new government to draw a plan for economic growth & investment opportunities.
Regarding the existence of foreign groups in Afghanistan, the delegation underscored that they should not have any operation.
Responding to their concern, Minister Muttaqi said we have pledged that Afghanistan’s soil will neither be used against any country nor would anyone be allowed to conduct such activities here.
Minister Muttaqi added that some biased media try to baselessly accuse the new government to challenge international confidence and create mistrust.
To end, it was agreed to continue such dialogue & relations.
