The newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan, Mr. Zhao Sheng presented his diplomatic credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

FM Muttaqi gave him assurance of all kinds of cooperation.

FM Muttaqi called the bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China special, and added that the appointment of Mr. Zhao Sheng as the new ambassador for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan by the People’s Republic of China is a significant step, carrying a significant message.

Expressing hope, FM Muttaqi said that with the appointment of the new Chinese Amb, bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China will reach their zenith, and hoping that the remaining steps will be taken, adding that there are now many opportunities for enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, which both sides can take advantage of.

Expressing the good wishes of Chinese Foreign Minister to FM Muttaqi, the Chinese Amb. said that he is proud to start his tenure as an ambassador of China in Afghanistan.

Welcoming Afghanistan’s positive position in relation to the People’s Republic of China on many occasions, the Chinese Amb. thanked Afghanistan in particular for its support for the one-China policy.

Adding further, he said that China respects Afghanistan’s national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and will never interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. Meanwhile, the Chinese Amb. said that in the last two years, Afghanistan has made significant economic progress, the security has improved and there has been a good fight against crimes.

The Chinese Amb. said that Afghanistan has established good relations with neighboring countries in the last two years, reiterating his promise that as an ambassador of China, he will make more efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China.
