The meeting focused on bilateral relations between IEA and Russian Federation, economic cooperation, cooperation in the domain of climate change, and ways to enhance the level of diplomatic relations between the two countries.At the outset, stressing on enhanced bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Russia, FM Muttaqi said that further progress can be made in several areas by increasing the stack of diplomatic relations between the two countries, adding further FM Muttaqi said that despite the fact that Afghanistan does not participate in the production of the greenhouse gases, it is not safe from the hazardous effects of climate change.Urging Russia to cooperate in providing training to the staff of the relevant bodies of Afghanistan regarding the protection of environment and forestation, FM Muttaqi asked Russia’s support in ensuring the participation of the Afghan representatives in international forums on environmental protection.Exchanging views on increasing the level of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Mr. Ruslan Edelgeriyev pledged to share the real portrait of the recent developments in Afghanistan with Russian President, Vladimir Putin.The Special Adviser emphasized that Afghanistan’s representatives should participate in the international meetings held regarding climate change, highlighting that Russia will participate in COP 29 upcoming meeting, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, where it will support the participation of Afghan delegations.To end, the Special Adviser stressed on the commencement of the work of bilateral trade commission between Afghanistan and Russia.
