The meeting focused on enhanced bilateral political, economic, and trade relations, as well as the strengthening of continued cooperation.
Expressing appreciation for the European Union’s humanitarian assistance, DFM M. Naeem stressed that such support should transition toward sustainable development programs in order to generate employment opportunities & effectively address the fundamental needs of the population.
DFM M. Naeem emphasised on balanced relations based on mutual respect, noting that dialogue & diplomacy constitute the most effective means of resolving issues & remain a priority for the Islamic Emirate.
EU-Special Representative similarly described dialogue & diplomacy as the most appropriate path to addressing challenges & reaffirmed continued cooperation with Afghanistan.
In addition, he noted that European markets are open to Afghan exports, stating that Afghan products are well received in Europe, particularly dried fruits, adding that efforts to facilitate Afghan access to European markets have been accelerated.
In the end, both sides emphasized the importance of continued engagement & regular exchanges to enhance coordination.
